Extended Men’s Laboratory Health Panel
1. Package name and overview
A broad set of blood and urine tests assessing blood counts, metabolic, liver, kidney and thyroid indicators, plus selected tumour markers. Tumour markers cannot be used alone to screen for or rule out cancer.
Tests listed: 38.
2. What each test measures
- •Quantitative Glucose (Blood) — Measures blood glucose at the time of collection; it is used in diabetes assessment or monitoring in the appropriate context.
- •Quantitative HbA1c — Estimates average blood glucose exposure over roughly the preceding 2–3 months; certain blood conditions may affect accuracy.
- •AST Activity — AST is an enzyme found in the liver and other tissues. A rise can occur with liver injury, muscle injury or other causes, so it is assessed with other results.
- •ALT Activity — ALT is an enzyme used to assess possible liver-cell injury; a high result does not identify the cause on its own.
- •GGT Activity — GGT is an enzyme associated with the liver and biliary system. It helps interpret other liver enzyme changes but is not disease-specific.
- •Alkaline Phophatase (Phosphatase kiềm /PK) — Measures alkaline phosphatase to support assessment of biliary or bone-related processes.
- •Total Cholesterol — Measures total blood cholesterol and contributes to assessment of cardiovascular risk alongside other factors.
- •Triglycerides — Measures a type of circulating fat; concentrations are affected by eating, alcohol and metabolic health.
- •Hdl-cholesterol — Measures HDL cholesterol, interpreted together with the full lipid profile and other cardiovascular risk factors.
- •LDL-Cholesterol — Measures LDL cholesterol, an important factor in assessing atherosclerotic cardiovascular risk.
- •Quantitative Uric Acid — Measures uric acid, relevant to gout assessment and some metabolic or kidney concerns.
- •CK Activity — Measures creatine kinase, which may increase after muscle damage or strenuous exercise.
- •Complete Blood Count (26 parameters, laser counter) — Measures red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and related indices; it can help identify patterns associated with anaemia, infection or blood disorders.
- •Total Bilirubin — Measures total bilirubin, which may increase with liver disease, bile-flow issues or red blood cell breakdown.
- •Albumin — Measures albumin, a major blood protein influenced by liver synthesis, kidney loss, nutrition and inflammation.
- •Cyfra 21- — Measures a marker labelled Cyfra 21- in the original catalogue. Confirm the complete assay name; it cannot diagnose cancer alone.
- •Ferritin — Measures ferritin, a marker related to iron stores; inflammation can also raise the result.
- •CA 19-9 Quantification — Measures CA 19-9, which may increase in malignant and non-malignant gastrointestinal or biliary conditions.
- •Ion đồ (Na+, K+, Cl-) — Measures sodium, potassium and chloride, which help regulate body fluids and neuromuscular activity.
- •CA 72-4 Quantification — Measures CA 72-4, a tumour-associated marker with limited diagnostic specificity.
- •Amylase Activity — Measures amylase, an enzyme that may rise in pancreatic and other conditions but is not diagnostic alone.
- •Direct Bilirubin — Measures conjugated bilirubin, which contributes to assessing liver and biliary problems.
- •FT3 — Measures free triiodothyronine, a thyroid hormone that may assist thyroid assessment in selected situations.
- •FT4 Quantification — Measures free thyroxine, interpreted with TSH to evaluate thyroid function.
- •TSH Quantification — Measures thyroid-stimulating hormone, often the starting marker for evaluating thyroid function.
- •SCC — Measures squamous cell carcinoma antigen, which has limited specialist uses and is not specific enough for cancer screening.
- •HBsAb — Measures antibodies to hepatitis B surface antigen, used to assess immune response in the proper clinical context.
- •AFP Quantification — Measures alpha-fetoprotein, used in selected liver disease and tumour-related clinical settings, not as a stand-alone cancer diagnosis.
- •Anti-HCV — Detects antibodies to hepatitis C virus. A positive result requires follow-up testing to determine current infection.
- •CEA Quantification — Measures carcinoembryonic antigen, used for selected clinical monitoring rather than population cancer screening.
- •CK-MB Activity — Measures CK-MB, an enzyme associated with muscle injury; modern cardiac evaluation normally requires additional clinical tests.
- •Total Protein — Measures the combined amount of albumin and globulins, helping assess selected protein-related abnormalities.
- •HBsAg — Detects hepatitis B surface antigen, a marker associated with current hepatitis B infection; follow-up may be needed.
- •Quantification PSA — Measures total prostate-specific antigen, which may be affected by benign prostate conditions as well as cancer.
- •Quantitative Creatinine — Measures creatinine, used with age and other information to evaluate kidney filtration.
- •Quantitative Urea — Measures urea, influenced by kidney function, hydration and protein metabolism.
- •Urinalysis( semi-automated method) — Screens selected urine parameters; results must be interpreted with symptoms and may require additional tests.
- •ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate) (VS) — A nonspecific measure affected by inflammation and several other conditions; it does not identify a diagnosis.
3. Who this package is suitable for
Adult men who have been advised to undergo a broad laboratory assessment or need to monitor specific pre-existing conditions. The included tumour markers should be reviewed for clinical relevance before ordering.
4. How to prepare
An 8–12-hour fast may be requested. Ask about urine collection. Inform us about medicines, supplements and any recent prostate-related procedures when PSA testing is included.
